With the sea as your constant companion, you’ll walk along the coast between Mossbystrand and Bingsmarken. On beaches, coastal paths, and cycling trails, you’ll pass small picturesque fishing villages and idyllic harbors.
During the summer, Mossbystrand is a popular bathing spot; parts of the area are nature reserves, where the dry sandy soils host species like thrift, harebells, lady’s bedstraw, pasque flower, and wild thyme. Next to the reserve, there is a grill area, restroom, outdoor shower, and bus stop.
By the Skivarpsån river at Osmarken, you’ll find a campsite with a shelter, fire pit, and toilet offering magical sea views.
The hike continues to Abbekås, where asphalt roads give way to gravel paths lined with rows of willows and fields on both sides, leading down to Abbekås harbor. Established as early as the medieval period, the harbor has two basins: the inner basin for professional fishers and the outer one for leisure and guest boats. Here, you can stroll along the promenade, admire the colorful fishing huts, and perhaps visit one of the village’s cafés or restaurants.
After trekking on the beach and the walking and cycling path, you’ll reach Hörte harbor, a small and charming fishing port with Viking-era roots. The harbor belonged to the Malmöhus County Eel Fishers’ Association until 1969, when it was donated to the harbor association. Birdlife around Hörte harbor is abundant, attracting many birdwatchers to its birdwatching shelter.
After crossing into Skurup Municipality, your walk continues along coastal paths in Bingsmarken. This coastal area is known for its wide, long, shallow sandy beaches.
Along this section of the trail, bus stops are available if you wish to shorten your hike.
